Airbus announced on Friday, December 15, that Turkish Airlines, Turkey’s national carrier, is set to expand its fleet with an order for an additional 220 aircraft. This significant order includes 150 of Airbus’ best-selling A321s and a mix of 70 A350 widebody aircraft, comprising 50 A350-900s, 15 A350-1000s, and 5 A350F freighters.

The latest agreement follows Turkish Airlines’ previous orders for 10 A350-900s in September.

The deal signifies one of the largest commitments for widebody aircraft by Airbus and marks a substantial expansion for Turkish Airlines. The partnership between Airbus and Turkish Airlines underscores the airline’s ambition to grow its global footprint and enhance its fleet with some of the world’s most modern and efficient aircraft.

Airbus’ Chief Commercial Officer praised the agreement, stating it ‘reinforces our long-lasting partnership with Turkish Airlines and Turkey’s aviation sector.’ This order aligns with Turkish Airlines’ strategy to meet the increasing demand for air travel and to maintain its reputation as a leading global carrier.
