15below Buys Airport AI to Boost Passenger Communication Tech

U.K.-based 15below, a leader in automated passenger communications for airlines, has acquired Airport AI, a conversational AI platform serving airports, in a move to create a unified communication solution for the travel industry. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition enables 15below to merge its expertise in airline messaging systems with Airport AI’s language model-based platform, which allows passengers to interact through websites, mobile apps like WhatsApp and WeChat, voice assistants, and airport kiosks.
By integrating their technologies, 15below aims to improve how airlines and airports engage with passengers, offering real-time, conversational, and context-aware communication. The platform is expected to reduce operational costs and support staffing efficiencies through self-service options for customer support.
Airport AI currently works with over 80 airports globally. The acquisition will support its expansion while enhancing 15below’s capabilities in delivering seamless, end-to-end communication throughout the passenger journey.
“We really admire Airport AI’s unique technology and vision, which aligns perfectly with our goal of simplifying the travel experience,” said Nicholas Key, CEO of 15below. “Together, we can deliver smarter, more connected services for airports and airlines.”
Pierre Cuquemelle, CEO of Airport AI, added that the integration will break down communication silos between airlines and airports. “By combining our AI technology with 15below’s system integration, we’re creating a future where travelers receive more efficient, stress-free support,” he said.
The deal follows 15below’s recent growth investment from LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group, to fuel innovation and expand its client base.
