2021 Travvy Awards: The Best Hotels & Resorts Around the World

Best Hotel Chain – Overall
Playa Hotels & Resorts was named the best overall hotel chain in the world this year, tied with La Colección Resorts by Fiesta Americana and AMR Collection for the top spot. RIU Hotels & Resorts won silver, along with Karisma Hotels & Resorts. The Hard Rock All-Inclusive Collection took bronze.

Best Hotel Chain – All-Inclusive
Sandals Resorts was named the gold standard for best all-inclusive hotel chains this year, along with that Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara chains. RIU Hotels & Resorts and AMR Collection both won silver. The Hard Rock All-Inclusive Collection took bronze, along with Atelier de Hoteles.

Best Villa Rental Company – Overall
Villas of Distinction won gold as the best overall villa rental company, followed closely by Top Villas, which took silver along with Rental Escapes. WIMCO Villas took bronze.

Best Spa & Wellness Resort – Domestic
The best spa and wellness resort in the nation is the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa both take silver. The Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa took bronze.

Best Spa & Wellness Resort – International
The best spa and wellness resort in the world is the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos. The Hard Rock Hotel Cancun took silver. Taking bronze is the Hotel Xcaret Arte.

Best All-Inclusive – Overall
Hoteles Xcaret took gold this year for the best overall all-inclusive. The UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya took silver along with the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, while The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun took bronze along with the Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun.

Best All-Inclusive Resort – Spa & Wellness
The Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana, Dominican Republic won gold as the world’s best all-inclusive spa and wellness resort. The UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya won the silver medal along with Le Blanc Spa Resort, Los Cabos. Le Blanc Spa Resort, Cancun won bronze.

Best All-Inclusive Adult/Couples Resort – Mexico
The best all-inclusive adult/couples resort in Mexico is the UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya, tied with the Hyatt Zilara Cancun. The silver medal goes to Le Blanc Spa Resort, Cancun and the Hotel Xcaret Arte. The RIU Palace Las Americas and Le Blanc Spa Resort, Los Cabos each took bronze.

Best All-Inclusive Adult/Couples Resort – Caribbean
The Sandals Emerald Bay was named the best adults-only resorts in the Caribbean. The Sanctuary Cap Cana took silver along with the RIU Palace Paradise Island. The Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana took bronze with the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.

Best All-Inclusive Luxury Resort – Mexico
The best all-inclusive luxury resort in Mexico is the UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya. Le Blanc Spa Resort, Los Cabos took silver along with the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun All Inclusive Spa Resort. The Grand at Moon Palace Cancun took bronze, tied with Le Blanc Spa Resort, Cancun.

Sanctuary Cap Cana took the gold medal this year for the best all-inclusive luxury resort in the Caribbean region. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana took silver. The Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana took bronze.

Best All-Inclusive Resort – Destination Weddings
Sandals Montego Bay in Jamaica took the gold medal as the best all-inclusive resort for destination weddings. Sanctuary Cap Cana and the Dreams Playa Mujeres Resort took silver. The TRS Yucatan Hotel took bronze this year, tied with Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos All Inclusive Resort & Spa.

Taking the top spot this year as the best all-inclusive for honeymoons is the Sandals Grenada resort. The TRS Yucatan Hotel took silver place this year along with the Secrets St. James Montego Bay Resort. The UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya took bronze along with Le Blanc Spa Resort, Los Cabos.

Best All-Inclusive Family Resort – Mexico
Hyatt Ziva Cancun took gold this year as the best all-inclusive family resort in Mexico. The RIU Palace Costa Mujeres took silver along with Hotel Xcaret Mexico, while the Grand at Moon Palace Cancun took bronze.

Best All-Inclusive Family Resort – Caribbean
Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages takes gold as the best all-inclusive family resort in the Caribbean. The Moon Palace Jamaica took silver, while the RIU Palace Aruba took bronze.

Best Honeymoon Hotel/Resort – Mexico
The UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya and El Dorado Maroma, by Karisma both took gold this year as the best honeymoon hotel or resort in Mexico. Taking the silver medal is the Hotel Xcaret Arte. Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta took bronze.

Best Honeymoon Hotel/Resort – Caribbean
The title for the best honeymoon hotel or resort in the Caribbean goes to Jade Mountain in Saint Lucia. Ladera Resort in Saint Lucia and the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar took silver. Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada took bronze.

Best Honeymoon Hotel/Resort – North America
The Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay took gold as the best honeymoon hotel or resort in the United States. The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel Big Island took silver along with the Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort, Florida Keys. Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort secured the bronze.

Best Luxury Hotel/Resort – North America
The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii was named the best luxury hotel or resort in North America. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas took silver this year, while The Broadmoor took bronze.

Best Luxury Hotel/Resort – Caribbean
Jade Mountain, Saint Lucia took gold as the best luxury hotel or resort in the Caribbean this year. The Azul Beach Resort Negril took silver. Spice Island Beach Resort in Grenada and Carlisle Bay in Antigua took bronze.

Best Luxury Hotel/Resort – Mexico

The Bellagio, Las Vegas took first place as the best domestic luxury gaming hotel or resort this year. Resorts World Las Vegas took silver along with ARIA Resort & Casino, Las Vegas. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida took bronze.
