$377M Salt Lake City hotel pays off long before opening

Salt Lake City’s tourism director says the city already has snagged a dozen conventions it otherwise would not have had, thanks to a $377 million convention center hotel project set for completion in 2022. The 25-story, 700-room Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City adjoining the Salt Palace Convention Center will add 60,000 square feet of meeting space indoors and 7,413 square feet outdoors.
