Bangladesh’s NXT Air completes certification
NXT Air (Dhaka) celebrated the receipt of its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on January 24, according to social media posts.
The cargo carrier reportedly expects to launch services at the end of this month to four domestic destinations, including Cox’s Bazar; Jessore; Dhaka; and Chittagong.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Nizam Ahmad was not immediately available for comment. The company posted photos on social media of its AOC celebration ceremony attended by CAAB chairman M Mafidur Rahman.
As reported earlier, the startup took delivery of its maiden aircraft – ATR72-200(F), S2-AJQ (msn 395) – from owner ACIA Aero after it was granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from CAAB on December 17. It reportedly planned to add a second ATR72 by the end of February and a B737-800 freighter later.
According to ch-aviation fleets ownership data, NXT Air Cargo is a subsidiary of Hello Airlines (Bangladesh) (Dhaka) which operates one ATR42-300(F) and one ATR72-200(F). The company, in turn, is owned by logistics provider IPSSL Group.
The startup will join Bismillah Airlines, Easy Fly Express, SkyAir, South Asian Airlines, and True Aviation BD in the Bangladeshi air cargo market, ch-aviation PRO airlines reveals.
