Canada’s Calm Air adds first ATR72-500(F)
Calm Air (MO, Thompson) took delivery of its first ATR72-500(F) – C-GREJ (msn 709) – on February 2, 2022.
The 17.7-year-old Avions de Transport Régional turboprop was previously operated by Binter Canarias (NT, Las Palmas) as a passenger carrier. And although it has since been converted into a freighter at Toulouse Francazal, it has yet to be delivered to Canada.
The aircraft will join Calm Air’s freighter fleet comprising one ACV!AT4230F, three ATR72-200(F)s, and one ATR72-200(QC). It also operates five ATR42-300s, two ATR72-200s, and one ATR72-500, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module highlights.
Calm Air operates scheduled and charter services mainly out of Winnipeg Int’l and Rankin Inlet. It is owned by Canada’s Exchange Income Corporation (EIC), which also controls Perimeter Aviation, Keewatin Air, Kivalliq Air, and Custom Helicopters.
