According to a report by WFAA’s Jason Whitely, Southwest Airlines has begun installing USB charging ports to its seats. The airline’s first USB-equipped 737 is called “Imua One,” and it features a new Hawaiian-themed livery that debuted last week.

The report notes that Southwest will start retrofitting its current fleet with USB charging ports this month, while the new 737s the airline receives will already have the power ports.

However, it may take some time before all passengers can take advantage of this new feature. Mr. Whitely posted an image of a 60W USB-C port and a USB-A port in a seatback from Imua One, but it is still unknown whether all Southwest 737s will get the same dual-port setup.

In addition to the USB charging ports, Mr. Whitely reported that Southwest is also retrofitting some of its overhead bins, replacing slimmer bins with taller ones to allow roller bags to be turned on their side.
