Travelers looking for a tropical getaway from the Pacific Northwest will soon have a new option. Alaska Airlines announced on Tuesday that it will begin offering nonstop flights between Honolulu and Paine Field-Snohomish County Airport in Everett, Wash., starting Nov. 5.

The new route will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The flight time is about six hours in each direction.

“We’re excited to offer our guests another way to experience the Aloha spirit with this new service from Everett to Honolulu,” said Brett Catlin, vice president of network and alliances at Alaska Airlines. “This route will not only connect two of our key markets, but also provide more choice and convenience for travelers flying between the islands and the Puget Sound region.”

Paine Field-Snohomish County Airport is located about 25 miles north of downtown Seattle and serves as an alternative to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for travelers in the northern suburbs. The airport opened to commercial flights in 2019 and currently offers service to 12 destinations in the western U.S. and Canada.

Honolulu is the largest city and capital of Hawaii, and a popular destination for tourists seeking sun, sand and surf. The city is home to attractions such as Waikiki Beach, Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor and the Iolani Palace.

Alaska Airlines is one of the largest carriers in Hawaii, with more than 30 daily flights to four islands from eight West Coast cities. The airline also offers low fares, free inflight entertainment, complimentary snacks and beverages, and a generous loyalty program.
