In a significant development, Airbus Helicopters’ super-medium H175 model has attained certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), heralding a massive potential market for the company. China, known for its demanding civil helicopter market, particularly in the super-medium segment, is witnessing a growing need for such advanced aerial solutions.

The newly-acquired certification enables Airbus Helicopters to commence deliveries of the H175 to China, with four orders already in the pipeline for 2023. This milestone marks a fruitful collaboration between Airbus Helicopters and the Chinese helicopter industry.

Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, expressed his delight, stating, “The Chinese certification of the H175 is another great achievement in the continued successful partnership between Airbus Helicopters and the Chinese helicopter industry. The H175’s advanced state-of-the-art performances and reliability will serve to provide the people of China with the ability to perform critical life-saving missions even in the most severe conditions.”

The H175, which was introduced into service in 2015, is expected to bolster the growth of the helicopter market in China. Airbus is keen on working hand in hand with the Chinese industry to cater to the nation’s civil market needs, offering products like the H175 that aim to serve the interests of the Chinese people and economy.

Versatile and capable, the H175 is designed to fulfill various roles, including offshore crew change, Search and Rescue (SAR) operations, public services, and private and business aviation.

With 53 H175s currently in service across 13 countries, accumulating an impressive 185,000 flight hours, the aircraft has already proven its reliability and performance.

In a related development, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) granted certification to the Chinese Y12F twin-engine turboprop aircraft on July 13, 2023.
