Northern Pacific Airways said it wants to organize an in-air AvGeek party on its next flight

Northern Pacific Airways, a newly established airline in the US, has extended an exciting invitation to aviation enthusiasts through its latest venture. The airline is calling upon the AvGeek community to come aboard and experience a unique flight to Las Vegas, Nevada. In a concise tweet, Northern Pacific Airways enthusiastically reached out to all AvGeeks, urging them to join the journey between Ontario International Airport (ONT), California, and Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS). The carrier’s tweet resonated with the idea of creating an AvGeek party atmosphere en route to Vegas and encouraged supporters to spread the word about this exceptional opportunity.

Scheduled for departure on August 3, 2023, the flight offers seats at an affordable price of $49 each. This flight marks the sixth for Northern Pacific Airways, which launched its commercial operations on July 14, 2023, and has since focused on connecting ONT and LAS.

Northern Pacific Airways initially had ambitions of launching flights between the mainland US and Asia, with a stopover at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) in Alaska. However, these plans were thwarted due to the geopolitical impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent sanctions that unfolded between the US and Russia.

Despite initial challenges, Northern Pacific Airways has displayed resilience and determination. The airline encountered a setback when its sole active Boeing 757, bearing registration N628NP, experienced a mechanical issue during its return journey to ONT on July 16, 2023. Nonetheless, the aircraft underwent prompt repairs and subsequently completed subsequent flights without any complications.

In response to a remarkable surge in demand, Northern Pacific Airways decided to double the seat capacity between ONT and LAS. This adjustment led to the introduction of flights on Thursdays and Mondays, effectively broadening the airline’s schedule. Previously, Northern Pacific Airways exclusively operated flights on Fridays and Sundays.

Notably, Northern Pacific Airways possesses three additional Boeing 757 aircraft, registered as N206UW, N202UW, and N201UU. According to data from ch-aviation.com and flightradar24.com, these aircraft have yet to be activated. All four planes were previously operated by American Airlines, but they were retired in the wake of the pandemic’s impact on air travel demand.
