Indonesian ACMI operator, BBN Airlines Indonesia (7B), is set to elevate its operations by adding four aircraft to its fleet, a move that expands its capabilities and signifies an entry into passenger services. Currently flying two B737-800(BCF)s, the airline is diversifying its portfolio with the acquisition of one B737-400(SF) and three B737-800s.

BBN Airlines Indonesia Chairman, Martynas Grigas, expressed optimism about the expansion, highlighting the scarcity of ACMI providers in Asia. “Since ACMI providers are still a rarity in Asia, BBN Airlines Indonesia is expected to give an extra boost to support the ever-growing aviation needs in Indonesia,” said Grigas. “This expansion will allow us to better serve our customers and meet the growing demand from airline, logistics, and tour operator companies.”

As a subsidiary of Avia Solutions Group (ASG), BBN Airlines Indonesia joins a group that includes Avion Express, Avion Express Malta, SmartLynx Airlines, SmartLynx Airlines Estonia, SmartLynx Airlines Malta, Air Explore, and KlasJet. ASG boasts a global fleet of 192 aircraft, encompassing A320, A330, B737, B777, and CRJ200 types.

The new additions to BBN Airlines Indonesia’s fleet will undergo a meticulous redelivery check at FL Technics Indonesia, another ASG-owned entity, before commencing revenue operations in early 2024. The versatile aircraft are slated for deployment on both domestic and international routes, with a strategic focus on connecting China to Denpasar.

The move into passenger operations positions BBN Airlines Indonesia to play a pivotal role in addressing the escalating aviation demands in Indonesia and underscores its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of airline partners, logistics providers, and tour operators.
