Sunclass Airlines Set to Expand Fleet with First A321neo
Denmark’s Sunclass Airlines (DK) is gearing up to enhance its fleet with the addition of at least one A321-200NX, marking the airline’s entry into the A320neo Family. ch-aviation research unveiled D-AZXO (msn 11690), a newly manufactured aircraft already adorned with the carrier’s livery and awaiting delivery from Hamburg Finkenwerder.
The anticipated registration for the new aircraft is likely to be OY-VKA upon completion of delivery.
While Sunclass Airlines did not respond to ch-aviation’s request for specific details on the delivery timeline and potential future A321neo additions, the development signifies a strategic move for the Danish leisure specialist.
Sunclass Airlines currently operates a fleet of nine A321-200s, averaging 11.4 years in age. The majority of these aircraft were inherited from its predecessor carrier, Thomas Cook Airlines Scandinavia, with one additional A321-200 acquired from Nordwind Airlines in mid-2022. The expansion into the A321neo model showcases Sunclass Airlines’ commitment to modernizing its fleet.
In addition to its A321 fleet, Sunclass Airlines operates one A330-200 (scheduled for retirement after the current winter season), one A330-300, and one A330-900. The introduction of the A321neo aligns with the airline’s strategic vision and positions it for continued growth and efficiency in the leisure travel sector.
