Atlantis Paradise Island has just enriched its dining scene with the opening of FIELDTRIP, a fresh and exciting fast-casual rice bowl concept by the acclaimed James Beard Foundation Award-winning Chef JJ Johnson. FIELDTRIP, which gained notable recognition as one of “America’s Best New Restaurants” by Esquire in 2020, is renowned for its sustainable, rice-centric dishes that delight the palate with global flavors and heirloom grains.

Located in the heart of Atlantis, this new culinary venture is set to tantalize taste buds with its diverse menu. Emphasizing global cuisines, FIELDTRIP at Atlantis spotlights a variety of heirloom grains. The restaurant’s offerings extend beyond rice, featuring an array of hearty vegetables and proteins, with a special focus on locally sourced seafood, aligning with the island’s culinary heritage.

Chef JJ Johnson’s association with Atlantis isn’t new; he was a star at the inaugural Nassau Paradise Island Wine & Food Festival and Table Takeover Series. His permanent addition to the Atlantis culinary team places him among a constellation of world-renowned chefs at the resort, including Michael White (Paranza), Nobu Matsuhisa (Nobu), José Andrés (Fish), and Alon Shaya (Silan).

Expressing his excitement, Chef JJ Johnson said, “I am thrilled to bring FIELDTRIP to its first international stage at Atlantis Paradise Island. FIELDTRIP’s mission is to unify communities through food, using rice as a global connector. I’m honored to join Atlantis’ illustrious culinary lineup and eager to share my distinctive flavors with both locals and visitors.”

Chef JJ’s remarkable career includes nine nominations from the James Beard Foundation, recognition in Forbes 30 Under 30, and a place on the Nation’s Restaurant News Power List.

Atlantis Paradise Island’s President and Managing Director, Audrey Oswell, expressed her enthusiasm about Chef JJ’s addition, stating, “Chef JJ Johnson brings a unique culinary and cultural perspective to Atlantis. We are delighted to welcome him back following his successful appearances at our Wine & Food Festival and Table Takeover events. FIELDTRIP and Chef JJ are invaluable additions to Atlantis’ unparalleled culinary offerings.”

FIELDTRIP arrives at an exciting time for Atlantis Paradise Island, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Royal Towers and significant renovations including the Atlantis Casino and Royal Tower guestrooms. This new restaurant is poised to become an integral part of the resort’s evolving and distinguished dining collection.
