Viking, a renowned name in ocean voyages, has announced the early opening of bookings for its 2026 ocean cruises, in response to the robust demand observed for its 2024 and 2025 sailings. Starting today, both travelers and travel advisors have the opportunity to reserve their spots on any of the over 80 itineraries offered by Viking’s expanding fleet.

In a significant development, Viking has also revealed the upcoming introduction of its latest ocean vessel, the Viking Vesta. Scheduled to debut in July 2025, this 998-guest ship is poised to embark on its maiden season, exploring the scenic regions of Scandinavia and the Mediterranean. Additionally, the Viking fleet is set to welcome the Viking Vela in December, further bolstering its impressive lineup of ocean ships.

The launch of the Viking Vesta next year will bring the total count of Viking’s ocean-going vessels to 11, complementing the line’s two expedition ships, Viking Polaris and Viking Octantis, which currently offer unique experiences in Antarctica and the Great Lakes.

Viking also announced the introduction of six new pre- and post-cruise extension options for 2024 and 2025. These guided extensions, available in destinations like Barcelona, Istanbul, London, Rome, Stockholm, and Venice, have been gaining popularity, with over 45% of Viking’s passengers opting for these additional experiences.

This announcement comes on the heels of Viking opening its 2026 river cruise bookings early last month, showcasing the company’s forward-thinking approach. Torstein Hagen, Viking’s Chairman, emphasizes the brand’s unique philosophy, stating, “We design travel experiences for thinking people, with no children and no casinos.” He expresses pleasure in the success of Viking’s distinctive approach and looks forward to welcoming more explorers aboard the Viking Vesta and other ships in their fleet.

The 2026 ocean voyages by Viking are set to cover a wide array of destinations, including the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, the British Isles, and the Caribbean, offering a diverse range of travel experiences to discerning cruisers.
