In the first quarter of 2024, Airbus achieved a significant milestone by delivering around 145 aircraft, underscoring its commitment to increasing production rates and reaching its ambitious target of 800 jet handovers for the year.

The European planemaker delivered about 65 jets to airlines in March 2024, an increase from the 49 shipped in February and more than double those handed over in January, according to a person familiar with the matter. The final tally may still change slightly, the person cautioned asking not to be identified ahead of an official release of data.  This development, as reported by Bloomberg News, highlights Airbus’s steady progress in fulfilling global aviation demands.

Airbus is intensifying efforts to enhance its production capabilities to meet unprecedented aircraft demand, even as Boeing, its primary competitor, grapples with ongoing crises, including a nearly disastrous incident earlier this year.

The aerospace giant is facing hurdles with its supply chain, notably affecting the delivery timelines of its wide-body aircraft due to a shortage of seats. Additionally, Airbus has communicated to its clients expected delays in the delivery of the narrow-body A321 model.

Despite these challenges, Airbus continues to solidify its position as the leading supplier of essential narrow-body jets, benefiting from regulatory restrictions placed on Boeing’s production. This competitive edge underscores Airbus’s resilience and adaptability in navigating the complexities of the current aviation market.
