Korean Air Lines Plans to Order 30 Boeing 787 Planes
Korean Air Lines is set to order up to 30 new jets from Boeing, according to a report by Bloomberg News on Sunday June 2. The South Korean airline is currently deciding between Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner and additional A350s from Airbus, as stated by Korean Air Chairman and CEO Cho Won-Tae in an interview.
Cho indicated that the decision, which is favoring the 787 Dreamliner, is expected to be announced at the Farnborough Airshow. This prominent aviation event is scheduled to take place from July 22-26 in Britain.
In March, Korean Air Lines had already announced a significant purchase of 33 Airbus A350 wide-body jets, a deal valued at $13.7 billion. This upcoming order with Boeing signifies the airline’s continued expansion and modernization of its fleet.
Korean Air’s Current Widebody Fleet
- 23 Airbus A330, average age: 18.1 years, oldest: 18 A330-300s (19.3 years)
