Hurtigruten, a leader in expedition cruising, is marking its 131st anniversary with a special sale for its North American customers, running now through July 16. The venerable cruise line, which first set sail along the Norwegian coast on July 2, 1893, is offering significant discounts to commemorate this milestone: up to 50 percent off its Original Coastal Express Voyages and up to 35 percent off its Signature Voyages, including the Svalbard Line and the North Cape Line, for the 2024-25 season. Additionally, for the 2025-26 season departures, guests can enjoy up to 15 percent off and receive up to 5,000 Norwegian kroner (about $450) in savings.

In a recent triumph, Hurtigruten’s innovative SeaZero project clinched the “Concept Vessel Design of the Year” at the prestigious Electric & Hybrid Marine Awards in Amsterdam. The SeaZero initiative is part of Hurtigruten’s commitment to sustainability, aiming to create the world’s most energy-efficient ship. This ambitious project involves collaboration with key Norwegian maritime industry players, including the research institute SINTEF, shipbuilder Vard, and propulsion experts Brunvoll.

Gerry Larsson-Fedde, Chief Operating Officer for Hurtigruten, expressed his pride in the achievement: “It is a great honor for us to receive this award as recognition for all the hard work our partners and employees have put into this project so far. While some of the technology we will use is mature, a lot of testing, development, and research is still needed in many areas to reach our goal. This award gives us extra motivation to continue this work.”

Hurtigruten’s anniversary sale and recent award underscore its ongoing dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction, reinforcing its reputation as a pioneer in the cruise industry.
