The Government of Poland has finalized a significant defense procurement, signing a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) for 96 Boeing AH-64E Apache combat helicopters. This deal is part of the Polish KRUK Attack Helicopter program aimed at enhancing the nation’s military capabilities.

Vince Logsdon, Vice President of International Business Development at Boeing Defense, Space & Security, expressed gratitude for Poland’s trust in Boeing’s technology. “The AH-64E Apache helicopters will bolster Poland’s operational capability and improve interoperability with the U.S., NATO, and allied nations,” Logsdon stated. He also emphasized Boeing’s commitment to delivering these top-tier combat helicopters.

This agreement follows closely on the heels of an offset agreement between the Polish Ministry of National Defence and Boeing, announced just a week earlier. This arrangement underscores a partnership that extends beyond procurement to include maintenance and support of the Apache fleet by the Polish defense industry, as well as the creation of training programs and a composite laboratory. These projects are designed to enhance Poland’s defense sustainability capabilities, foster high-skilled employment, and drive technological advancements, resulting in significant economic growth.

Kathleen Jolivette, Vice President and General Manager of Boeing’s Vertical Lift division, remarked on the scale of this acquisition. “Poland’s commitment to procure 96 aircraft represents the largest FMS order in the history of Boeing’s Vertical Lift division and will make Poland not only our 19th global Apache customer but also the largest operator outside of the United States,” she noted.

The AH-64E Apache, built in Mesa, Arizona, represents the pinnacle of more than 40 years of evolution of this helicopter platform. Known for its battle-tested design and integration of transformational technologies, the AH-64E offers unparalleled performance and versatility. Currently, over 1,290 Apaches are in operation globally, supported by Boeing Global Services for sustainment and training.

The selection of the AH-64E Apache by the Government of Poland in September 2022 for its new attack helicopter fleet marks a significant step in modernizing and strengthening the Polish Armed Forces. This procurement not only enhances Poland’s defense posture but also signifies a strengthening of ties with U.S. and allied military forces.
