Walt Disney World Resort has unveiled details about the highly anticipated Island Tower, set to open on December 17, 2024, at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. This new development promises to enhance the resort’s tropical charm with a variety of new features and amenities.

New Dining Experience: Wailulu Bar & Grill

A highlight of the Island Tower is the Wailulu Bar & Grill, a walk-up poolside eatery that captures the essence of Polynesian cuisine. Named using the Hawaiian words “wai” (water) and “lulu” (calm), this venue offers serene views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and an inviting atmosphere for guests to enjoy.

  • Menu: The restaurant will serve an all-day menu with Polynesian-inspired dishes for lunch and dinner, along with select breakfast items including specialty coffee and pastries.
  • Design: The space will feature Polynesian artwork, including intricate fish sculptures made from recycled materials, a grand textile piece representing a colorful coral reef, and an abstract Polynesian Stick Chart. A painting of Moana will also be prominently displayed, enhancing the themed experience.

New Pool and Splash Area

Families will enjoy the new Moana’s Voyage splash area, featuring life-size sculptures of Moana and her canoe. The Island Tower will also introduce the Cove Pool, a zero-entry pool designed for relaxation and enjoyment by Disney Vacation Club members and resort guests.

Exclusive Tropical Terrace Gardens

The Island Tower will offer access to four exclusive tropical terrace gardens, each with lush foliage, inspired artwork, and themed seating. These serene gardens provide stunning views of Disney’s Oak Trail and Magnolia Golf Courses, as well as the Seven Seas Lagoon, making them ideal for watching Magic Kingdom’s fireworks.

The new Island Tower promises to elevate the Disney Polynesian experience, blending enchanting Polynesian elements with modern amenities and breathtaking views.
