Delta One Lounge at JFK: 5 Reasons It’s the Ultimate Travel Oasis

Share

Delta Air Lines has raised the bar with its newest lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, making it their largest and most luxurious space to date. Spanning nearly 40,000 square feet, the Delta One lounge promises an array of upscale features designed to enhance the travel experience for business and first-class passengers. Here are five standout reasons why this new lounge is generating buzz.

1. Exclusive Check-In and Security Experience

The Delta One lounge offers a dedicated ground-side check-in area, ensuring that front-of-the-plane travelers skip the regular lines. Located in a private room with frosted-glass windows, this check-in zone provides a serene environment where staff offer warm towels and light refreshments while your bags are checked and boarding passes are printed. Delta plans to introduce a private TSA security checkpoint later this year, directly connecting to the lounge, streamlining the process even further. Until then, guests will proceed through regular security but can quickly reach the lounge afterward.

2. Gourmet Dining and Beverage Options

One of the lounge’s main attractions is the Brasserie, a 140-seat restaurant offering an elegant dining experience. Curated by Union Square Events and Restaurant Associates, the menu features French-inspired dishes such as hamachi crudo with avocado and honey citrus vinaigrette, rotisserie chicken with Parmesan polenta, and a decadent dark chocolate soufflé. For a more casual bite, guests can visit the delicatessen area, featuring a self-service salad bar, sandwiches, and flatbreads. The lounge also boasts a beverage cart that provides service directly to your seat, offering classic cocktails and signature drinks.

3. All-Season Terrace with Runway Views

The Delta One lounge includes a stunning all-season terrace equipped with a retractable glass sunroof, seasonal plants, and climate control. With floor-to-ceiling windows, this terrace offers breathtaking views of the runway. Seating is available for about 40 guests, who can relax on outdoor sofas and lounge chairs while enjoying the fresh air before their flight.

4. Luxurious Spa Treatments and Shower Facilities

For those needing some pre- or post-flight pampering, the lounge features nine reservable relaxation pods, including five with zero-gravity massage chairs. Complimentary 10-minute spa treatments are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with options such as shoulder and neck massages, hand and arm treatments, and mini-facials. The lounge also offers eight well-appointed shower rooms stocked with high-quality toiletries from Grown Alchemist. Guests can freshen up and even have their clothes ironed or shoes shined by the valet.

5. Stylish and Chic Design

The design of the Delta One lounge is both spacious and sophisticated, accommodating up to 515 passengers. The lounge is divided into distinct areas, starting with the Fireplace Lounge, featuring leather swivel chairs and faux flame accents. Designed in collaboration with luxury Italian fashion house Missoni, the space boasts their signature zigzag patterns. Other design elements include art deco touches in the Icon Bar, inspired by Radio City Music Hall, and a market area with a penny-round ceiling nodding to the original Eero Saarinen–designed JFK terminal.

Accessing the Delta One Lounge

Located between Concourses A and B in Terminal 4, the Delta One lounge is open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Access is restricted to travelers flying on Delta One business-class tickets, those traveling in business or first class on Delta’s partner airlines, or Delta 360 members. The lounge’s exclusivity and premium features are set to redefine airport luxury and comfort.

Delta is also planning to open two additional Delta One lounges later this year at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), further expanding their network of high-end amenities for top-tier travelers.
