Delta Air Lines announced its 2025 Transatlantic summer schedule, revealing the largest expansion in the airline’s history with several new routes connecting the U.S. and Europe. This strategic move aims to enhance travel options for passengers and strengthen Delta’s presence across the Atlantic.

Among the key additions, Delta will introduce nonstop services from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN), operating three times a week, as well as four times weekly flights to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). These new routes reflect Delta’s commitment to connecting major U.S. cities with popular European destinations.

Italy will play a significant role in Delta’s expanded flight schedule. Starting in May 2025, the airline will launch its first-ever flights between New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Catania Fontanarossa Airport (CTA) in Sicily. This daily service will be operated using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, making it a convenient option for travelers heading to this stunning Italian island.

Delta is also set to introduce a four-weekly nonstop service linking Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) to Naples International Airport (NAP). This new route adds to Delta’s growing portfolio in Italy, catering to increasing demand for travel to this beautiful region.

In addition, Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) will see a new four-weekly service from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP). Delta will also increase its weekly frequencies from its Atlanta hub, boosting the route from 14 to 17 flights per week. This enhancement underscores Delta’s focus on providing more travel options to key European cities.

The expansion doesn’t stop there; Delta is launching a four-weekly service from Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) to Dublin Airport (DUB) and a thrice-weekly route from Atlanta to Brussels Airport (BRU). These new routes are part of Delta’s broader strategy to cater to the rising demand for transatlantic travel.

In conjunction with the new routes, Delta will increase frequencies on several existing key European routes. For instance, flights from Atlanta to Barcelona will increase from daily to 10 times per week, while service from Atlanta to Athens will expand from daily to 11 flights weekly. Additionally, routes from Atlanta to Zurich and Detroit to Munich will both transition to daily service, enhancing connectivity for travelers.

This expansive summer schedule for 2025 highlights Delta Air Lines’ dedication to providing customers with more choices and convenience when traveling between the U.S. and Europe. With its strategic network growth and commitment to passenger service, Delta is poised to meet the evolving needs of international travelers. As travel demand continues to rebound, this ambitious schedule positions Delta as a key player in the transatlantic aviation market, ready to serve the desires of both leisure and business travelers alike.
