Air India has removed three cabin crew members from duty following an incident involving the mishandling of a Boeing 777 aircraft door, leading to the accidental auto-deployment of the emergency slides. According to sources cited by PTI, the incident occurred on September 15 when flight 176 from San Francisco landed at Bengaluru airport.

The issue arose when the crew encountered a technical problem with one of the aircraft’s doors, preventing it from opening properly after landing. Air India confirmed that the situation was promptly addressed, and passengers safely disembarked without any damage to the aerobridge.

In a statement, an Air India spokesperson explained, “The technical issue with the door was identified upon landing, and the aircraft was cleared for operation after the incident.” The airline further added that regulatory authorities were informed as part of standard procedure.

While no passengers were harmed, the airline took immediate action by derostering the involved crew members to ensure proper safety protocols are upheld. The mishap highlights the importance of strict adherence to operational procedures in aviation safety.
