FliteAccess (Louisville Bowman Field) has officially retired its sole Hawker 800XP (2), N574CH (msn 258540), from its Part 135-certified fleet in October 2024, marking the end of an era for the operator’s Hawker Beechcraft aircraft. This aircraft was the only Hawker 800XP available for charter through FliteAccess, and its retirement leaves the company with a fleet focused on smaller Cessna models.

The 23.8-year-old Hawker 800XP first joined FliteAccess’ fleet in December 2023. The aircraft had a relatively short tenure with the company but had been a crucial part of their offering, which specializes in private jet charters and aircraft management services. Over its service period with FliteAccess, the aircraft maintained a United States registration, following its operational history in the U.S.

The Hawker 800XP was last active on May 31, 2024, with a flight between Louisville International Airport and Houston Sugar Land. After this, the aircraft underwent a test flight on July 22, 2024, but has since been parked and not returned to active service. Following this period of inactivity, FliteAccess made the decision to remove the aircraft from its fleet and no longer list it as a U.S. FAA Part 135-certified aircraft.

FliteAccess’ decision to retire the Hawker 800XP reflects a strategic shift and possibly an operational move to focus on aircraft that better align with its customer base’s needs. The company continues to offer a variety of aircraft for charter services, albeit with a fleet that now exclusively features smaller, more efficient Cessna aircraft. The retirement of the Hawker 800XP does not significantly affect the company’s ability to provide private jet charter services.

Currently, FliteAccess operates a fleet consisting of four Citation Bravo jets, one Citation Jet 2, one Citation Jet 3, two Citation X, and one Cirrus Aircraft SR22. The Citation Bravo and Citation X jets, in particular, remain popular for providing luxurious and comfortable air travel for both business and leisure clients. The Citation X, one of the fastest business jets in the world, is often chosen for long-range trips due to its impressive speed and range capabilities, making it ideal for clients who need to travel quickly and comfortably.

The decision to focus on Cessna models, including the Citation Bravo and Citation X, allows FliteAccess to offer reliable, high-quality aircraft while keeping operating costs manageable. Cessna’s reputation for dependable, efficient aircraft makes them a solid choice for a company like FliteAccess, which seeks to provide both luxury and value to its clientele.

FliteAccess is not only known for its charter services but also offers aircraft management, which includes helping clients manage the complexities of owning and maintaining an aircraft. This includes offering maintenance, scheduling, and other services that ensure their customers’ aircraft remain in optimal condition. The company also specializes in acquisitions, assisting clients in the buying and selling of aircraft to ensure they make sound, informed decisions.

With the retirement of the Hawker 800XP, FliteAccess looks set to continue its operations with an even stronger focus on its core fleet of Citation jets, catering to the evolving needs of private jet charter clients while maintaining its strong reputation in aircraft management and services.
