The airline plans to launch with a fleet of two Airbus A320 Family aircraft, focusing on connecting key regional destinations.

Chairman Janith Kashan envisions leveraging Sri Lanka’s strategic location as a regional aviation hub. Initial operations will target high-demand routes in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, offering frequent flights to key destinations.

The proposed route network for the first year includes:

  • Colombo–Dubai International: 5 weekly roundtrips
  • Colombo–Doha Hamad International: 5 weekly roundtrips
  • Colombo–Chennai: 5 weekly roundtrips
  • Colombo–Bangkok Suvarnabhumi: 4 weekly roundtrips
  • Colombo–Singapore Changi: 4 weekly roundtrips

If granted approval, Air Ceilão will join SriLankan Airlines, FitsAir, and Cinnamon Air as Sri Lanka’s fourth active scheduled operator. The airline aims to cater to growing passenger demand, while positioning itself as a key player in Sri Lanka’s aviation sector.

Air Ceilão’s ambitious plan underscores its commitment to strengthening connectivity in the region, tapping into both business and leisure travel markets. With its strategic route choices, the airline aims to enhance Sri Lanka’s status as a pivotal aviation hub.
