Norwegian Cruise Line Cancels 2025-26 Sailings for Fleet Changes
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced a second wave of cruise cancellations for winter 2025-26, impacting itineraries on the Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Bliss, and Norwegian Encore due to fleet redeployments.
The affected sailings, originally scheduled for November 2025 through January 2026, have been replaced with new routes as part of NCL’s updated deployment strategy:
Norwegian Breakaway: Now offering Southern Caribbean and Bahamas cruises departing from New York City.
Norwegian Bliss: Redeployed to sail from Los Angeles to the Mexican Riviera.
Norwegian Encore: Extended winter season with Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami.
Compensation for Affected Guests
NCL is offering compensation to impacted passengers, which includes:
Full monetary refunds for fares paid.
An additional 10% Future Cruise Credit (FCC), valid for any published sailing through December 31, 2026.
In its official statement, NCL expressed appreciation for guests’ understanding: “As a genuine acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused, we have extended a 10% discount in the form of a Future Cruise Credit.”
Second Wave of Redeployments
This announcement follows a previous round of cancellations in November 2023, which impacted voyages from November 2025 through April 2026 on three other ships—the Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Star, and Norwegian Jewel—due to similar fleet adjustments.
While the changes may disrupt some travelers’ plans, NCL’s redeployments aim to optimize its fleet by offering more sought-after itineraries to popular destinations across the Caribbean, Bahamas, and Mexican Riviera during the winter season.
Affected guests are encouraged to contact NCL or their travel advisors for refund details and to explore alternative cruise options.
