Air Nunavut Adds First Falcon 900EX to Fleet

Air Nunavut (BFF, Iqaluit) has expanded its fleet with the addition of its first Falcon 900EX, a notable milestone for the airline. The aircraft, registered as C-GXEX (msn 74), is a 24.5-year-old business jet that was previously operated privately in the United States as N297KM. The jet, which was deregistered in the U.S. on December 9, 2024, was officially reregistered in Canada under Air Nunavut on December 16, 2024.
The Falcon 900EX, which has been inactive since December 6, 2024, when it completed a flight between Lincoln, NE, and Stuart Witham, will now join Air Nunavut’s growing fleet of executive aircraft. The aircraft has yet to operate under its new Canadian registration.
Air Nunavut already owns a variety of Dassault Aviation aircraft, including six Falcon 10s, two Falcon 20(F5)s, a Falcon 100, and a Falcon 200. The airline also operates a fleet of four King Air B200 turboprops, which are primarily used for charter flights within Arctic Canada.
In addition to its turboprop operations, Air Nunavut offers executive jet services under the Smooth Air trade name. This service caters to both regional and international charter markets, allowing the airline to expand its reach beyond Canada’s Arctic region.
The addition of the Falcon 900EX enhances the airline’s ability to offer premium services to a broader customer base while reinforcing its position as a versatile provider of both regional and executive aviation services. The jet’s long-range capabilities and luxurious features are expected to meet the growing demand for high-end charter services in the region and internationally.
With this new addition, Air Nunavut is further establishing itself as a key player in the Arctic and executive aviation sectors, catering to both business and leisure clients seeking exclusive travel options.
