Execaire Aviation (Montréal Trudeau) has retired its sole Challenger 850 aircraft, marking the end of its operation of this particular model. According to ch-aviation research, the Challenger 850, registered as C-GSLL (msn 8103), was last active on December 5, 2024, flying between Toronto Pearson and Buffalo Niagara International, followed by a leg to Atlanta Newman Coweta County. On December 11, the aircraft was deregistered in Canada and re-registered in the United States as N850RD. It began flying in the U.S. on December 17, with its first flight to Atlanta Speedway Airport. Currently, the aircraft is not listed as a Part 135-certified aircraft.

The 14.2-year-old Challenger 850, which seats up to 14 passengers, was previously available for charter services. The aircraft was originally delivered to Image Air Charter, before being operated by Skycharter. Earlier this year, Image Air Charter, Skycharter, Execaire, and Innotech Aviation merged to form the newly rebranded Execaire Aviation.

Execaire Aviation, known for its expansive fleet, remains one of the most significant operators of Bombardier Business Aircraft in the region. The company continues to focus on its growing Challenger family, which includes two Challenger 300s, three Challenger 350s, four Challenger 604s, three Challenger 605s, and six Challenger 650s. Additionally, Execaire Aviation manages a diverse fleet of 41 aircraft from renowned manufacturers such as Bombardier, Dassault Aviation, Embraer Executive Jets, Gulfstream, Pilatus, and Textron Aviation.

In an exclusive interview with ch-aviation, Execaire’s representatives emphasized the company’s ability to expand its Challenger fleet, thanks to the sizable inventory it already owns. With a focus on premium service and flexibility, Execaire Aviation’s robust fleet continues to meet the growing demand for business aviation across North America and beyond.

Execaire’s decision to retire the Challenger 850 comes as part of the company’s ongoing fleet optimization strategy, as it looks to strengthen its position in the competitive private aviation sector. The aircraft’s retirement will not significantly impact Execaire’s service offerings, as the company’s diverse fleet of Bombardier jets ensures that it can continue to serve a wide range of customer needs, from short-haul trips to long-distance international flights.

As Execaire Aviation continues to evolve and expand, the company is well-positioned to maintain its reputation as a leading provider of executive aviation services. The Challenger 850’s retirement signifies an ongoing commitment to fleet modernization and a focus on enhancing the overall customer experience.
