SPCTA Taxi Aéreo Bolsters Fleet with Global 5000 Debut

SPCTA Taxi Aéreo has expanded its range of business aircraft with the arrival of its first Bombardier Global 5000, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to offering premium private aviation services. The newly acquired ultra-long-range jet, identified as PT-CTA (msn 9305), boasts a luxurious 16-passenger configuration designed to meet the demands of high-net-worth travelers seeking both efficiency and comfort in the skies.

Originally registered as N815PA in the United States, the 16.5-year-old aircraft was last seen in operation on December 14, 2024, flying from Alton to São Roque Sao Paulo Catarina via Fort Lauderdale International. Following its final American flight, the Global 5000 was deregistered on December 18, and just two days later, it received its new Brazilian registration, officially becoming PT-CTA.

SPCTA Taxi Aéreo wasted no time putting its latest acquisition to work, with PT-CTA completing its inaugural Brazilian flight on December 26. This trip saw the jet travel to the upscale resort city of Punta del Este, reflecting the company’s strategy of catering to business and leisure travelers who prioritize speed, flexibility, and privacy. The Global 5000 has not yet been authorized for commercial air taxi services.

According to ch-aviation, the aircraft’s type does not appear on SPCTA Taxi Aéreo’s RBAC 135 Operations Specifications. This means that while the operator possesses the Global 5000, the jet cannot currently conduct charter flights on behalf of paying customers. Once the necessary approvals and certification processes are complete, however, SPCTA will be able to offer the aircraft to clients seeking global reach without the constraints of traditional commercial airlines.

The addition of this Bombardier Business Aircraft marks a significant development in SPCTA’s broader growth strategy. Until now, the operator’s charter fleet primarily comprised a 14.8-year-old Embraer Phenom 300, known for its agile performance on shorter routes, and an AgustaWestland AW109 helicopter, prized for its versatility in accessing remote or congested areas. By incorporating the Global 5000, SPCTA aims to expand its range of services and attract an even wider client base.

Global 5000 jets are respected for their impressive range and speed, making them an attractive choice for corporate executives and affluent travelers needing efficient, intercontinental transportation. With advanced cabin technology and high-speed connectivity, these aircraft deliver a first-class in-flight experience. SPCTA’s decision to invest in this model indicates the company’s intention to compete in the growing sector of ultra-long-range private aviation.

While the Global 5000 awaits air taxi approval, SPCTA remains dedicated to maintaining high safety and service standards. The process of adding new aircraft types to an operator’s RBAC 135 certificate can be meticulous, involving thorough documentation, training, and regulatory checks. Once certified, the Global 5000 will likely become a flagship option in SPCTA’s offering, enabling the company to fulfill long-haul travel requests and build on its reputation for excellence in Brazil’s private aviation market.

As the operator finalizes certification, SPCTA’s new jet signals a future for its premium charter services.
