This week, travel tech leaders Sabre, Amadeus, and SITA made significant announcements shaping the global travel industry.

Sabre deepened its partnership with Thai Airways through a long-term distribution agreement. By adopting Sabre’s fares manager and optimizer solutions, Thai Airways aims to streamline pricing strategies and enhance market responsiveness. Nuthaphol Amawatana, head of pricing and revenue management at Thai Airways, emphasized the airline’s commitment to delivering value while maintaining competitiveness.

Amadeus expanded its collaboration with Saudia, integrating its Altéa NDC platform to enhance booking transparency for travel sellers. Additionally, Amadeus partnered with Serko to incorporate NDC-enabled content into its corporate travel solution, Zeno, set to launch in mid-2025.

SITA announced partnerships with Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Airport and Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport. SITA’s advanced technologies, including SITA Flex and Maestro, aim to automate processes, enhance passenger experiences, and reduce environmental impact.

Expedia Group appointed Shilpa Ranganathan as chief product officer, marking her return to lead product and design teams. With over 25 years of experience, Ranganathan plans to drive customer-centric innovations and expand Expedia’s influence in the travel industry.

In other updates, PKFare joined forces with Stayforlong to offer personalized long-stay accommodation options, and Avantio named Shaun McCorry as strategic sales leader for North America, aiming to enhance vacation rental management technology.

Lastly, The Advantage Travel Partnership collaborated with Vibe to equip its UK members with advanced booking tools, leveling the playing field for smaller travel management companies.
