Spain’s Air TXT Launches Citation Ops, Explores Freighter Fleet

Air TXT (Madrid Barajas) has officially launched charter operations with a Citation Ultra, marking its entry into the executive aviation sector. The airline plans to expand its fleet by adding one or two more aircraft in 2025 and is actively considering narrowbody freighters to support its parent company, Trans X TAR.

The Citation Ultra, EC-GOV (msn 560-0419), is a 27.4-year-old jet configured for eight passengers. It has displayed the Air TXT logo since January 2023, operating under its registration callsign until December 9, 2024. The following day, it completed its first official flight under the ‘XTX’ code, flying from Madrid Barajas to Corvera.

Air TXT plans to certify the aircraft for air ambulance services in February 2025, with operations starting in March 2025.

The company, co-owned by Trans X TAR and Sapphire Private Jets, is evaluating both Airbus and Boeing freighter options but has yet to finalize a decision. While executive jet cargo flights currently serve pharmaceutical clients, the company aims to scale up freighter operations to support Trans X TAR’s growth.

Air TXT received its Spanish AOC in September 2024 and began commercial operations on October 10, 2024. As it expands, the airline is positioning itself as a dual-service operator in both private jet charters and cargo aviation, tapping into Spain’s growing demand for business aviation and freight logistics.
