Empyreal Jet No Longer Lists Part 135 Certified Aircraft

Empyreal Jet has removed all aircraft from its Part 135 certificate following the retirement of its last remaining jet, a Learjet 60, according to ch-aviation research. The company has confirmed that it has no plans to resume operations under the certificate and may surrender it soon.
The Learjet 60, registered as N601EJ (msn 60-101), had been part of Empyreal Jet’s fleet since 2022. It was last flown on August 8, 2023, from Nassau International to Houston Intercontinental before being placed in storage. The 27.8-year-old jet’s retirement marks the end of the company’s Part 135-certified operations.
Between January and October 2024, Empyreal Jet operated a fleet that included two Hawker 800XPs, a Hawker 800XP(R), and the Learjet 60. However, regulatory issues arose in March 2024 when the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposed a $175,000 civil penalty against the company. The penalty was related to allegations that Empyreal Jet operated a Hawker 800XP in an unairworthy condition on approximately 31 revenue flights in 2022.
With no aircraft currently listed under its Part 135 certificate, Empyreal Jet’s future in the private charter market remains uncertain. The removal of its fleet could indicate a shift in business strategy or potential regulatory challenges. As the private aviation sector continues to evolve, the company’s next steps will be closely watched by industry observers.
