At the MRO Middle East conference on February 10, 2025, Boeing and Royal Jordanian announced multiple service agreements designed to enhance the airline’s fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The agreements, which include parts exchange programs and connectivity upgrades, aim to streamline maintenance operations and improve the passenger experience across the airline’s Dreamliner fleet.

Royal Jordanian has renewed and extended its 787-9 Component Services Program, which guarantees fast and efficient access to critical components as needed. According to Boeing, this comprehensive rotables exchange and repair service enhances efficiency by optimizing the management of high-value, line-replaceable units, ultimately reducing downtime and improving fleet availability.

Additionally, Royal Jordanian has joined Boeing’s Landing Gear Exchange Program. This initiative provides the airline with a streamlined solution to manage landing gear maintenance, reducing both maintenance costs and inventory management expenses. The program is designed to help the airline maintain the reliability of its landing gear, ensuring fewer disruptions and a continued focus on delivering a top-tier passenger experience.

As part of the service agreements, Boeing will also provide connectivity modification services for Royal Jordanian’s existing 787-8 fleet. These modifications will upgrade onboard internet connectivity, offering a significant improvement in the quality of in-flight internet services. Moreover, the same connectivity standards will be implemented on the airline’s incoming Boeing 787-9s, ensuring a consistent and superior passenger experience across the entire 787 fleet.

“This will standardize the onboard services and provide a superior passenger experience across the entire Royal Jordanian 787 Dreamliner fleet,” Boeing stated, emphasizing the importance of the connectivity upgrades in keeping pace with passenger expectations for high-quality, reliable in-flight internet.

The agreements were signed by Mohammad Maayta, Head of Engineering and Maintenance at Royal Jordanian, and Dave McKenna, Regional Managing Director of Commercial Sales & Marketing at Boeing Global Services. Maayta expressed confidence in the impact of these agreements, saying, “We are confident that the Landing Gear Exchange and Component Service Programs from Boeing will help ensure our Dreamliners are maintained with efficiency and ready to fly. Additionally, the planned modifications to upgrade and standardize internet connectivity services on our 787 fleet will enable us to provide an enhanced onboard experience for our passengers.”

Royal Jordanian currently operates a fleet of six Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners and has placed an order for six 787-9s, which will be further enhanced by these service agreements with Boeing.

These new service commitments reflect Royal Jordanian’s continued focus on improving operational efficiency and passenger satisfaction, ensuring its Dreamliner fleet remains a reliable and enjoyable choice for travelers.
