National Jets has retired its only Gulfstream G550, removing the aircraft from its Part 135-certified fleet, according to ch-aviation data.

The 13.1-year-old Gulfstream G550, registered as N8988 (msn 5391), was configured to accommodate up to 16 passengers. It last operated on December 30, 2024, flying between Charleston International and Fort Lauderdale Executive.

Originally registered in the Isle of Man, the ultra-long-range jet was later re-registered in Switzerland and Malta before being exported to the United States in 2023. It officially joined National Jets’ fleet later that year.

While phasing out the G550, National Jets has expanded its charter fleet by adding its first Gulfstream GIV-SP and two Hawker 800XPi jets. These aircraft now operate alongside the company’s Learjet 40, strengthening its private aviation services.

The retirement of the G550 marks a strategic shift in National Jets’ operations, focusing on fleet diversification while continuing to serve high-end charter clients across the U.S. and beyond.
