Landfolk Expands to Italy with Danitalia Vacation Rental Acquisition

Landfolk, the Denmark-based vacation home rental platform, has acquired Danitalia, an Italy-based vacation home provider, marking its first acquisition as part of its Southern Europe expansion strategy. The deal amount remains undisclosed.
As part of the acquisition, Danitalia founder Elisabeth Hjorth will join Landfolk as Country Manager for Italy, overseeing the company’s growth in the region.
“Italy has always been a top travel destination, and our guests have shown strong demand for authentic and unique Italian vacation homes,” said Christian Schwarz Lausten, CEO of Landfolk. “This acquisition allows us to expand into the Italian market and leverage mergers and acquisitions for growth.”
Founded in 2021 by former Airbnb employees, Landfolk has quickly established itself as a premium vacation rental platform, offering curated stays across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Germany. The company raised €10.3 million in Series A funding last year and had previously stated its intent to expand into Southern Europe.
With Danitalia’s portfolio of handpicked Italian vacation homes, Landfolk strengthens its presence in high-demand leisure markets. The move positions the company to compete with leading European rental platforms while delivering high-quality, locally immersive travel experiences.
This acquisition marks an important milestone in Landfolk’s growth journey, as it continues to expand its footprint and enhance its vacation rental offerings across Europe.
