RwandAir has extended the suspension of 11 regional routes until late October 2025 due to ongoing airspace restrictions imposed by the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The DRC closed its airspace to Rwandan-registered aircraft amid continued conflict near Goma, a city close to the Rwandan border.

Initially, RwandAir had planned to resume these routes by April 2, 2025. However, the suspension has now been extended through October 26–27, affecting a range of West and Central African services.

The temporarily suspended routes include:

  • Three weekly flights from Abuja (Nigeria) to Accra (Ghana)
  • Abuja to Kigali via Accra (two daily, three weekly)
  • Four weekly flights from Brazzaville (Congo) to Douala (Cameroon)
  • Three weekly Brazzaville to Kigali flights
  • Three weekly services from Cotonou (Benin) via Libreville (Gabon) to Kigali
  • Cotonou to Libreville, three times weekly
  • Douala to Brazzaville, three times weekly
  • Kigali to Abuja, three times weekly
  • Kigali to Brazzaville, four times weekly
  • Kigali to Cotonou, three times weekly
  • Libreville to Cotonou, three times weekly

These adjustments are part of RwandAir’s continued efforts to adapt its network amid regional instability. The airline is closely monitoring the situation and will reassess route reinstatement plans based on future developments. Passengers affected by these changes are encouraged to contact RwandAir for rebooking options or refunds.
