Mali Air Adds HondaJet to Fleet for Austrian Charter Launch

Austria’s Mali Air is preparing to launch HondaJet operations with the addition of its first Honda Aircraft, marking a strategic expansion in its fleet. According to ch-aviation data, the aircraft, registered as OE-FUA, is a 7.3-year-old HondaJet recently added to the Austrian register.
Previously flying in the United States under the registration N420ME, the aircraft was part of the Jet It Flight Operations fleet. Jet It, a fractional ownership company, ceased operations in 2023. The HondaJet was subsequently ferried to Mönchengladbach, Germany, in November 2023, where it remained parked except for several test flights conducted between June and July 2024. A final test flight took place on January 15, 2025, before the aircraft was officially deregistered from the U.S. registry on March 3.
While the HondaJet has not yet entered active service with Mali Air, its addition signals the operator’s move toward modernizing and diversifying its fleet. Mali Air currently operates a mix of light aircraft, including a Cessna 340, two Citation I/SPs (with one parked at Linz Blue Danube Airport since August 2024), an Eclipse 500, and an Eclipse 550 (parked at Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen since October 2024).
The upcoming launch of HondaJet operations positions Mali Air to offer more efficient and modern charter services within Austria and across Europe. The HondaJet is known for its fuel efficiency, speed, and comfort, making it a strong fit for regional business aviation markets.
