Southern Air Charter Adds Two Jetstream 32 Aircraft in Bahamas

Bahamas-based Southern Air Charter has expanded its fleet with the addition of two British Aerospace Jetstream 32 aircraft. The regional airline announced the fleet update via social media, marking a significant step in enhancing its charter services across the Bahamas and the United States.
The newly added turboprops, registered as C6-LNG (msn 976) and C6-NSG (msn 977), were manufactured in 1993. C6-LNG was registered in July 2024, followed by C6-NSG in October 2024. Despite being recently introduced to the fleet, the airline only publicly confirmed the acquisitions in March 2025. These are currently the only two active aircraft in Southern Air Charter’s fleet, and neither is tracked by ADS-B data platforms.
Southern Air Charter has a history of operating smaller aircraft, including a Piper PA-23, which it used briefly between 2023 and 2024. The airline previously operated two Beechcraft 1900Cs, one Beechcraft 1900D, and a King Air B100.
The carrier holds Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) #440, which was renewed in March 2024 and remains valid until March 2026. Southern Air Charter has been authorized to conduct charter operations in the United States since 2010, offering flights between destinations in the Bahamas and select U.S. locations.
With the introduction of the Jetstream 32s, Southern Air Charter aims to provide enhanced reliability and capacity for regional travelers. The aircraft are well-suited for inter-island operations, aligning with the airline’s goal of improving service and connectivity within the archipelago and beyond.
