Canada’s Sunwest Aviation Acquires Fractional Firm Jet-Share

Sunwest Aviation has acquired Jet-Share Aviation, a Canadian fractional ownership provider, expanding its fleet and operations. The acquisition includes Jet-Share’s operational assets, personnel, and a recently added Citation XLS, which has now been integrated into Sunwest’s charter fleet.
The 18.1-year-old Citation XLS, registered as C-FDXU (msn 560-5688), was officially added to Sunwest Aviation’s Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) 704 certificate on April 29, 2025. The aircraft, based at Toronto Pearson and configured for seven passengers, is now available for charter under Sunwest’s banner.
As part of the deal, Sunwest has also taken over Jet-Share’s operational framework, including its crew and maintenance teams. Jet-Share previously operated another aircraft, a 29-year-old Citation VII (C-FTOR, msn 650-7067), which remains in private use in Canada.
The acquisition boosts Sunwest Aviation’s fleet to over 25 aircraft, including a diverse range of jets and turboprops. The current fleet includes two Learjet 45s, a Learjet 45XR, two Challenger 300s, a Challenger 350 and 3500, multiple Challenger 600-series jets, the Citation XLS and Sovereign, a Falcon 7X, two G150s, a G650ER, several Beechcraft 1900Ds, King Airs, and De Havilland turboprops.
Based in Calgary, Sunwest Aviation offers a full suite of aviation services including private charter, aircraft management, maintenance, and aircraft sales. It also operates a fixed-base operation (FBO) at Calgary International Airport, serving both corporate and private aviation clients across Canada and beyond.
