Royal Caribbean Expands with Perfect Day Mexico in 2027

Royal Caribbean has announced a major expansion of its land-based vacation offerings, unveiling plans to open Perfect Day Mexico in 2027 along with new Royal Beach Clubs in The Bahamas, Cozumel, and the South Pacific. The reveal is part of the company’s long-term vision to create an “ecosystem” of experiences that extend beyond cruising, appealing to a new generation of travelers.
Perfect Day Mexico, set to open on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, will span over 200 acres and introduce seven distinct neighborhoods packed with attractions. Signature features include Loco Waterpark, which will house the tallest water slide tower in the Americas and the world’s longest coaster waterslide. Splash Cove will feature the longest lazy river on Earth, complete with a “crazy” route of waves, rapids, and spins. Younger guests will enjoy Royal Caribbean’s largest Splashaway Bay, while adults can relax or party in El Hideaway, a private, adults-only area with a swim-up bar, DJ, and cabanas for up to 20 people.
Additional highlights include the premium Costa Beach Club, offering private cabanas with personalized service, and Fiesta Plaza, a festive arrival zone with live mariachi performances and the world’s largest sombrero-topped bar. The destination will also feature over 10 expansive pools, 24 bars, and 12 regionally inspired dining options, many complimentary. Art, music, and local vendors will ensure guests experience authentic Mexican culture in a vibrant, curated environment.
Michael Bayley, CEO of Royal Caribbean International, described Perfect Day Mexico as “bigger and bolder than anything we have done to date,” emphasizing the line’s commitment to creating unforgettable family vacations. Jason Liberty, CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, added that with cruising only accounting for $80 billion of a $2 trillion global travel industry, the company’s strategy is to close the gap with land-based options tailored to a younger, experience-driven audience.
The new destination will be featured on Western Caribbean itineraries sailing from Galveston, New Orleans, and Florida ports, with cruises including stops at both Perfect Day Mexico and the Royal Beach Club in Cozumel. Itineraries will open for booking this fall.
Royal Caribbean also plans to debut its Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in The Bahamas in December 2025, followed by openings in Cozumel (2026) and Lelepa in Vanuatu (2027), which will become the cruise line’s first private island in the Southern Hemisphere. Unlike the all-encompassing nature of Perfect Day destinations, Royal Beach Clubs offer an optional premium experience within a port of call, allowing travelers to explore independently or opt in for exclusive access, similar to shore excursions.
Kara Wallace, chief marketing officer, confirmed the company will support travel advisors with immersive training and familiarization trips to help them sell these premium experiences, many of which will be commissionable.
By 2027, 90% of Royal Caribbean’s Caribbean guests will experience either Perfect Day at CocoCay or Perfect Day Mexico, reinforcing the brand’s vision of redefining cruise vacations through exclusive, experience-rich destinations.
