Romania’s Dokia Air Eyes Long-Range Business Jet Expansion

Dokia Air is preparing to expand into the long-range business jet segment, aiming to add an aircraft with a range of up to 6,000 nautical miles, CEO Florin Susanu confirmed in an exclusive interview. The Bucharest Baneasa-based operator currently flies a Falcon 2000LXS, but growing demand across Europe is pushing the company toward longer-range options.

Dokia Air launched operations in 2024 after securing its Romanian AOC in October and acquiring a new Falcon 2000LXS. While the aircraft has a range of around 4,000 nautical miles, Susanu said it falls short of meeting client needs for longer international routes. The airline is now evaluating additional Dassault models, citing a strong partnership with the manufacturer and robust support infrastructure across Europe.

The company’s growth strategy includes expanding its fleet beyond a single aircraft. While new jets are preferred, used aircraft are also under consideration, as long as they meet safety and operational standards. Susanu highlighted that the owner’s strong ties to France played a role in selecting Dassault for Dokia’s launch aircraft.

Maintenance for the Falcon 2000LXS is performed at Dassault Falcon Services in Paris Le Bourget, with additional support in Geneva, Istanbul, Nice, Nuremberg, and Vienna. The aircraft is based in Bucharest, where increased business jet activity is making Baneasa Airport a prime location.

Dokia Air plans to enter the aircraft management market and is open to operating aircraft for both Romanian and international clients under its EASA AOC. Charter activity is split between individual and corporate clients, with key destinations including Nice, London, and Paris.
