The latest global airline route news for the week of June 9, 2025, highlights new partnerships, expanded services, and strategic seasonal additions across key markets.

India’s low-cost carrier Akasa Air has signed a partnership with Adani Airport Holdings to operate from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. Akasa plans to launch over 100 weekly domestic departures initially, with a goal of reaching 300 domestic and 50 international weekly departures by the winter 2025-26 schedule. CEO Vinay Dube emphasized the role of the new hub in enhancing western India’s connectivity and regional development.

EVA Air has entered a codeshare agreement with LOT Polish Airlines effective June 9. The partnership includes EVA flights from Taipei to Tokyo Narita and Vienna, and LOT’s service from Warsaw to Vienna. Though there are currently no direct flights between Taiwan and Poland, this is the first codeshare between the two carriers. LOT also announced a new winter route between Warsaw and Rovaniemi, Finland, operating twice weekly from November 27 to February 1, 2026.

Iberia has resumed seasonal routes from Madrid to Ponta Delgada in the Azores and Tirana, Albania. Both routes will run up to three times weekly through September. These destinations complement Iberia’s summer offerings to Dubrovnik, Mykonos, and Catania.

Spirit Airlines has launched nonstop flights from Columbia Metropolitan Airport in South Carolina to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Newark. The ULCC will operate three flights weekly to Florida and four weekly flights to Newark, expanding air access for the Midlands region.
