At the upcoming Paris Air Show 2025, Airbus will display an A321XLR in full Riyadh Air livery, marking a significant milestone for both the manufacturer and its new customer. The event will be held at Paris-Le Bourget Airport from June 16-22, 2025. The showcased aircraft, registered F-WWBZ, is one of Airbus’s A321XLR test aircraft, previously painted in Airbus house colors. On June 8, 2025, it was rolled out in Hamburg featuring Riyadh Air’s signature pearl, purple, and lilac design.

Riyadh Air’s A321XLR features a clean white forward fuselage with large billboard-style titles and the carrier’s distinctive tail design. The cockpit area is accented with the airline’s signature eye mask design. This high-profile appearance at Paris marks a strong marketing move for both Airbus and Riyadh Air ahead of the airline’s operational launch.

Riyadh Air placed an order for 60 Airbus A321neo aircraft in October 2024 during Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative. The deal, signed by Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas and Airbus Commercial CEO Christian Scherer, supports Saudi Arabia’s aviation growth and sustainability goals. Riyadh Air also has 72 Boeing 787-9s on order.

The Saudi carrier recently received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the General Authority of Civil Aviation, allowing it to proceed with preparations for its commercial launch later in 2025. While the A321XLR on display will remain with Airbus after the show, the appearance offers global exposure for Riyadh Air as it prepares to enter the market.
