Victory Cruise Lines Expands Luxury Great Lakes Cruises

Victory Cruise Lines has entered the Great Lakes cruise market, launching Victory I on April 27 in Toronto and Victory II on May 12 in Chicago. Both ships, built specifically for Great Lakes and coastal voyages, accommodate 190 passengers and revive the historic era of regional passenger shipping.
Originally built in 2001 as Cape May Light and Cape Cod Light, the vessels changed ownership multiple times before joining American Queen Voyages in 2019. After American Queen Voyages ceased operations in early 2024, maritime entrepreneur John Waggoner acquired the ships, renovated them, and reintroduced them under the Victory Cruise Lines banner for the 2024 season.
Victory Cruise itineraries feature destinations including Chicago, Escanaba, Mackinac Island, Sault Ste. Marie, Detroit, Cleveland, Niagara Falls, and Toronto. Guests enjoy a pre-cruise hotel stay, shore excursions like the Henry Ford Museum and Niagara Falls boat rides, and motorcoach transfers.
Accommodations range from 146 to 181 square feet, with upgraded Club-Level staterooms offering outdoor access, stocked mini-fridges, exclusive dining at Tuscan Stone Grill, and upcoming laundry services. Public spaces include the Tavern, Compass Lounge with live lectures and entertainment, a spa, and a Sun Deck with loungers.
Dining options include the Coastal Dining Room with diverse menus and the Tuscan Stone Grill’s interactive lava rock cooking experience. Wi-Fi and an onboard app enhance guest convenience.
Victory Cruise Lines appeals to experienced, multi-generational travelers from the U.S. and Canada, offering an intimate, luxury cruise experience across all five Great Lakes.
