Franco-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR has announced a new partnership with JSX, a U.S.-based public charter carrier, marking ATR’s official entry into the U.S. public charter market. The announcement was made on June 18, 2025, during the Paris Air Show.

Under the agreement, JSX will lease two ATR 42-600 aircraft, configured with 30 premium seats, to expand its unique hop-on jet service across the United States. The new aircraft will feature business class legroom, complimentary cocktails, and gourmet inflight snacks, in line with JSX’s upscale brand promise. The ATR aircraft will also be equipped with Starlink high-speed internet, pending certification.

To ensure optimal reliability and performance, the two ATRs will be covered under a comprehensive ATR Global Maintenance Agreement, aimed at maximizing aircraft availability for JSX’s growing network.

The ATR 42-600s will be fitted with the ATR HighLine cabin collection, which is tailored for premium regional operations. The HighLine series emphasizes comfort, design, and privacy, making it a fitting choice for JSX’s hybrid model that combines the convenience of private air travel with the accessibility of scheduled public charter services.

“This partnership brings over 1,000 new airports into reach for JSX,” said Alex Wilcox, Chief Executive Officer of JSX. “With the ATR 600-series, we’re expanding access to reliable public charter flights across the U.S., including many smaller airports previously accessible only by private aviation.”

In addition to the lease, JSX has also signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with ATR for 15 new HighLine-equipped aircraft, with options for 10 more. The potential order includes a mix of ATR 42-600s and All-Business Class ATR 72-600s, both seating 30 passengers and designed to offer a premium onboard experience.

Nathalie Tarnaud-Laude, Chief Executive Officer at ATR, expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership. “We are delighted to welcome JSX as a new ATR operator and to see our aircraft entering a dynamic new market segment in the United States. JSX’s model, blending the exclusivity of private aircraft-style travel with the efficiency of regional aviation, is a perfect match for our ATR HighLine cabin collection.”

She added, “This partnership underscores the growing demand for low-emission, high-end air travel, powered by the unmatched performance of turboprop technology. We look forward to supporting JSX’s vision and further reinforcing ATR as the leading choice for regional aviation in the U.S.”

The ATR 42-600’s fuel-efficient turboprop engines and ability to access short runways make it ideal for JSX’s strategy of connecting underutilized regional airports with premium service. With growing environmental concerns and rising demand for regional connectivity, this partnership reflects a shift in the U.S. air travel market toward more sustainable, flexible, and upscale options.

The first ATR-operated JSX flights are expected to launch later this year, bringing a new level of comfort and accessibility to regional flying in the United States.
