Air India Cuts 118 Narrow-Body Flights Through Mid-July

Air India has announced a temporary reduction in its narrow-body flight schedule, cutting 118 weekly flights across 19 routes and fully suspending services on three international and domestic routes until at least July 15, 2025.
The airline confirmed the move on June 22, describing it as a voluntary step to strengthen operational reliability and reduce last-minute cancellations. The changes impact less than five percent of Air India’s narrow-body operations.
Routes facing full suspension include Bengaluru to Singapore, Pune to Singapore, and Mumbai to Bagdogra—each previously operating seven or more weekly services. Other routes such as Delhi to Bengaluru and Delhi to Mumbai will see reduced frequency.
Despite these changes, Air India will continue to operate nearly 600 daily narrow-body flights across 120 domestic and short-haul international routes.
In its statement, the carrier expressed regret to affected travelers and said it is offering re-accommodation, complimentary rescheduling, or full refunds. Updated schedules are being rolled out on Air India’s official platforms.
This marks the second significant service adjustment for the airline in June. Earlier this month, Air India reduced wide-body international flights by 15 percent due to intensified aircraft safety inspections following a fatal Dreamliner crash on June 12 that claimed 241 lives.
Additional complications include restricted airspace in the Middle East and operational curfews at several international airports.
Air India emphasized its commitment to restoring full service as soon as possible, with safety and schedule reliability remaining top priorities.
