Global Entry Interviews Now Available at Miami Airport Without Appointment

Frequent international travelers have a new, easier way to complete their Global Entry interviews. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has expanded its Enrollment on Departure program to include Miami International Airport (MIA), allowing conditionally approved applicants to complete their Global Entry interviews at the airport without an appointment.

Previously only available at Washington Dulles International Airport, the program lets travelers complete their interview before boarding a flight, eliminating the need to schedule hard-to-get appointments at traditional enrollment centers. The new MIA Enrollment on Departure location is on the second floor of Concourse J, opposite the Lufthansa check-in counter, and operates Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To use the service, applicants must already be conditionally approved for Global Entry and bring a valid passport, proof of residence (such as a driver’s license, utility bill, or lease agreement), and a same-day boarding pass. Permanent residents must also bring their green card. Minors do not need to show proof of residency.

The interview process typically takes about 15 minutes, though travelers should allow extra time in case of lines or if departing from another terminal. This program complements the existing Enrollment on Arrival option, available at 51 U.S. airports, which lets conditionally approved applicants finalize their interview after arriving on an international flight.

Global Entry, which includes TSA PreCheck benefits, costs $120 for five years. Many premium travel credit cards, like the Capital One Venture X and Chase Sapphire Reserve, reimburse the fee.
