The global travel industry saw a wave of tech-driven partnerships and strategic innovations this week, as companies doubled down on artificial intelligence, automation, and streamlined distribution.

Amadeus expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud by migrating parts of its infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency and power innovations using AI tools. Similarly, Accelya launched FLX AIViator, an AI layer to drive real-time, revenue-generating decisions across forecasting, pricing, merchandising and support.

Meanwhile, Navan introduced advanced analytics tools to give travel managers real-time spending insights without relying on spreadsheets, and Red Hat supported Turkish Airlines in accelerating AI deployment using open-source architecture to avoid vendor lock-in.

In the airline space, EgyptAir teamed up with SITA to overhaul its network infrastructure, adopting cloud-native solutions to increase bandwidth, automate operations and enhance the passenger experience. El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá also partnered with SITA to implement Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) tools to reduce delays and fuel consumption.

Distribution platforms saw major moves as well. GoNexus Group launched its white-label tours and experiences platform within WestJet’s ecosystem, expanding access to 220,000+ offerings. Traveling.com rebranded from GetByBus to unify its bus, ferry, rail, and transfer services globally. HBX Group integrated Bakuun’s B-Aggregate channel manager aggregator to simplify hotel connectivity across 200+ systems.

RateHawk and GlobalStar Travel Management signed a partnership to offer 2.7 million accommodations and travel services globally, while Almatar Group launched Arabiabeds, a hotel bed bank focused on the Middle East and North Africa.

Technology upgrades weren’t limited to bookings. Swiipr launched a new set of APIs enabling airlines to digitize compensation payments, potentially cutting costs by 60%. Technoheaven launched its new activity module to help travel companies create, bundle and distribute tours and transfers with centralized control and API functionality.

For the hotel sector, Preferred Hotels & Resorts partnered with Otelier to provide IntelliSight, a business intelligence platform that replaces spreadsheets and unifies operational data. RMS joined forces with Breezeway to integrate property care tools including smart locks and AI-powered guest messaging into its hospitality management platform.

On the loyalty and business travel front, Bolt Business teamed with IHG Business Edge to offer shared clients perks like IHG Gold Elite status and discounted rides, aiming to simplify logistics for small businesses. TripStax partnered with One Global to deliver customized mobile and tracking solutions across 20+ markets, enhancing duty-of-care and traveler experience.

In corporate sustainability, Advito introduced the Carbon Strategy Planner, enabling travel managers to forecast emissions and evaluate reduction strategies using certified methodologies.

New research from the TravelTech Show highlighted that only 31% of operators have adopted mobile-first technology, despite rising usage among Gen Z and millennials. Complexity and security remain top barriers, even as mobile becomes essential to customer engagement.

Finally, Custom Travel Solutions announced key executive appointments as part of a global growth strategy, while Accor selected MeetingPackage as its exclusive provider for automating M&E and group bookings across over 5,600 hotels.

This week’s updates underscore the travel industry’s continued evolution, blending AI, automation and integrated tech to reshape guest and business experiences globally.
