Dassault Aviation will begin manufacturing its Falcon 2000LXS business jets in India through a joint venture with Reliance Aerostructure Limited. This marks the first time Dassault will build the Falcon 2000 outside of France.

Production will take place in Nagpur, Maharashtra, under the Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) joint venture. Dassault expects the first India-built Falcon 2000LXS to take flight by 2028. The facility will also assemble the front section of the Falcon 8X and 6X, as well as the wings and full fuselage of the Falcon 2000. These jets will serve both business and military markets and be sold locally and internationally.

DRAL, established in 2017, has previously only assembled subsections of the Falcon 2000. The expansion into full aircraft production reflects a deepening commitment to India’s Make in India initiative, which aims to boost domestic manufacturing through partnerships with global firms.

“This new agreement will make DRAL the first Falcon assembly center outside France,” said Dassault CEO Eric Trappier. “It demonstrates our commitment to India’s aerospace ambitions and global supply chain role.”

Reliance Group, led by billionaire Anil Ambani, co-owns the venture and brings infrastructure expertise through its holdings in Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Power.

India, now the world’s fifth-largest economy, is positioning itself as a key player in global aerospace. According to ch-aviation data, Dassault has built 706 Falcon 2000s to date, with 633 still in active service worldwide. The new production line represents a major milestone in Indian aviation manufacturing.
