Bulgaria Revokes Jet Sky Airways Operating Licence

Jet Sky Airways has had its operating licence revoked by the Bulgarian Civil Aviation Administration (BGCAA). The decision, issued on May 9, 2025, officially cancels the airline’s licence BG 1008-45 due to non-compliance with the conditions outlined in its air operator’s certificate (AOC BG 70).

While the BGCAA confirmed the revocation, it did not disclose specific reasons. Both the authority and Jet Sky Airways have yet to respond to requests for comment.

Jet Sky Airways was granted its operating licence and AOC at the end of 2023. It began charter services shortly thereafter, primarily operating flights out of Pristina, Kosovo, in partnership with local tour operator Air Tiketa. The airline sourced aircraft for these operations through GoTo Fly, an Italian virtual carrier.

Currently, the airline has no active aircraft in its fleet. Previously, it operated two Boeing 737-400s: 9H-RUN and LZ-CRI. According to data from ch-aviation, 9H-RUN is now inactive in the fleet of 4 Airways, while LZ-CRI is operated by GP Aviation.

As of April 2, Jet Sky Airways still held a valid AOC, but no recent operational activity has been publicly reported.

The revocation marks a quick downfall for the Sofia-based airline, which had only recently entered the market. The move underscores the regulatory scrutiny faced by new carriers in the region, especially those operating under charter agreements and virtual partnerships. Further developments are expected as authorities and the airline clarify the circumstances surrounding the licence termination.
