Oman Air officially joined the oneworld airline alliance on June 30, 2025, becoming the 15th full member carrier of the global network. The move strengthens oneworld’s presence in the Middle East and expands its offerings to include new destinations served by Oman Air. Starting July 1, oneworld passengers will be able to enjoy seamless access to Oman Air’s global network, which includes over 40 destinations across 22 countries and new non-stop service from Muscat to Amsterdam.

As a full alliance member, Oman Air now offers reciprocal frequent flyer benefits to oneworld travelers, including the ability to earn and redeem miles, gain status points, and enjoy priority check-in, boarding, and lounge access. Oman Air’s elite loyalty members will also benefit from oneworld perks such as access to nearly 700 premium lounges worldwide, including new oneworld lounges at Amsterdam Schiphol and Seoul Incheon airports.

Oman Air CEO Con Korfiatis welcomed the milestone, stating that the carrier is honored to join an alliance known for excellence in international travel. He emphasized the opportunity to introduce oneworld customers to the Sultanate of Oman, known for its rich culture, scenic mountains, and coastal beauty. Nat Pieper, CEO of oneworld, said Oman Air’s award-winning service and network will provide customers with valuable new connections, particularly across the Gulf and South Asia.

Headquartered at Muscat International Airport, Oman Air operates a fleet of 22 Boeing 737s and 11 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, although three Dreamliners are currently leased to Riyadh Air and Qatar Airways. Originally founded in 1993 to serve domestic Omani routes, the airline has evolved into a regional and international player and has played a significant role in positioning Muscat as a top travel destination. Oman Air was initially slated to join oneworld in 2024 after its election at the IATA AGM in Doha in 2022, with Qatar Airways sponsoring its entry.

Oman Air’s addition introduces new points to the oneworld map, including domestic Omani destinations such as Duqm and Khasab, as well as Chittagong in Bangladesh. Oneworld Emerald, Sapphire, and premium cabin customers will gain access to Oman Air’s lounges at Muscat, Salalah, and Bangkok. The airline’s partnership with oneworld also supports broader tourism, business, and industrial growth in Oman.

With Oman Air’s integration, oneworld’s alliance now comprises 15 full members, including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Fiji Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian, SriLankan Airlines, and Oman Air, along with more than 20 affiliates.
